Employee Spotlight for July 2024 Katie Starr

July 23, 2024 //  by activitydir

Katie Starr was born to Randy Rhoads and Sara Rhoads. She is the oldest of 8 children and has 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Katie is married to Jeremy and she has four children Gaige, Makiah, Brentton, and Eilar. Katie has worked for PMSL for 2 and half years. She started as our Restorative Therapy Nurse and is now our MDS Coordinator. Katie states that she what she loves most about her job is the staff and residents. She loves watching how much the staff care and how excited the residents are when they see their “favorites” are working with them that day. Katie states that the advice that she would give current employees is always remember how important your job is no matter what position you may have; we are all here for the same reason and you all are appreciated more than you know! I know somedays in healthcare we all feel defeated but always remember your WHY. Katie states that the biggest challenge that she has faced during her healthcare career would be Covid but as healthcare workers we are trained to adapt to change, my biggest challenge has been watching someone you have taken care of for so long, someone you have grown to love begin to decline and pass. She states that still to this day she has residents, patients and their families that will always hold a special place in her heart! PMSL would like to thank Katie for all of her hard work and dedication to our residents and their families and for always going above and beyond. She is a very important part of our team!
