October 2024 PMSL Employee Spotlight Taylor Joiner

Taylor Joiner was born and raised in Chrisman IL. to her Mother Meagan. She has one brother Landen and one sister Jordyn. Taylor is engaged to Tim Posey and she has one son Elijah, one daughter Maria and one stepdaughter Maddy. Taylor has been employed with PMSL for 3 years previously as a CNA with a brief break and returned to us as an LPN. When asked what she enjoys most about her job she states seeing the residents smile and the friendships that she has made. One of her favorite moments at PMSL was during our first round of Covid. We held a parade for all of the families and took residents outside to see them. The biggest challenge that she has faced in her career was deciding to become a nurse and the transition from being a CNA to a nurse. We are so happy and proud to have Taylor rejoin us as an LPN at PMSL.

Meet the Administrator-Travis Hackett

Please welcome our new Administrator at PMSL-Travis Hackett. He grew up in State Line Indiana. Travis has been married to his wife Bekah for twelve years and they have four children, Gage age 21, Abi age 17, Katarina age 15 and London age 9. Travis started at PMSL as an agency nurse two years ago and came on full-time to PMSL as our Wound Care and Infection Control Nurse. Travis states that the most enjoyable part of his job is seeing all of the residents happy. He states that the most challenging part of his career was getting through Covid-19 as a nurse. His advice to future and current employees is “In a world of problems, be the solution.” One of his most memorable moments at PMSL was getting to participate in the National Nursing Home week games. PMSL would like to welcome him aboard to our wonderful team!

PMSL Department Highlights September 2024

Marketing Department: We are currently taking applications for available rooms on our Independent Unit. If you are interested in more information or a tour, please contact Jami McNulty at 217-269-2396. Community Bingo will be held at the Chester P. Sutton Community Center in Paris on Tuesday, October 8th, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and at the Georgetown Library in Georgetown on Tuesday, October 15th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Come and join the fun!

Human Resources: We are accepting applications online or in person for the following positions: RN, LPN, Dietary Department and Activities Department. If you have any questions please contact our Human Resources Department at 217-269-2396. We look forward to speaking with you!

Activity Department: We are currently in the process of fundraising for our Annual Christmas party for our residents. Each year every resident receives a gift and goodies from Santa. We will be featuring a Basket Raffle and will be selling them at the facility. Please check out our website and Facebook page for the complete list and pictures. If you would like to purchase tickets or have questions please contact Amy Bennett-Luttrell Activities and Social Services Director. Ticket sales will end on Monday, September 30th at noon. Winners will be drawn at 2 p.m. on this day at Pleasant Meadows. You do not have to be present to win!
