Katie Clements
Here at Pleasant Meadows we have been building an all-star team. Our staff is strong, caring, hardworking and always ready to make our residents feel at home away from home. Starting this month, we want to shine a light on some of our brightest stars. I am pleased to introduce you to Katie Clements, our Restorative Nurse Manager. She was gracious enough to answer some question about herself.
Katie was born and raised in Paris, Il on September 16th where she graduated from Paris High School and went on to get her license at the Lakeland College for Nursing. After college, she then went on to work at Horizon Health for almost 12 years working on many different specialties (Family Practice, Ortho and Medical Surgery). While working in the surgery center, Katie earned a Daisy Award.
Katie has been with us here at Pleasant Meadows for almost a year and we consider her family. When I asked her who her favorite Nurse was, she couldn’t pick just one because they are all “pretty great”. She didn’t want to pick just one of our CNA’s either but did say that our Restorative girls are a pretty amazing team.
Katie told me she is a dog person and has 2 Cane Corso’s (Axel & Dixie). She loves anything outdoors, time with family, and bowfishing. More of her favorite things include sushi, the color blue, and her favorite day is Saturday (except for fall when it’s Sunday for Football-you will find her rooting for “Da Bears”).

PM Upcoming Events
Amy Bennett-Luttrell, our Activities Director, and I are teaming up with Chrisman High School for a pumpkin decorating contest for the students and staff. Each homeroom class is going to provide their own pumpkin to decorate and bring to Pleasant Meadows so that our residents can vote on the best pumpkin. They will deliver the pumpkins to our facility and our activity department will take down all the residents votes.
The pumpkin who receives the most votes will earn its homeroom class their very own doughnut party from Royal Doughnut provided by the Pleasant Meadows. I will have the honor of delivering the sweet treats for the students Friday Morning on October 28th. We really want to incorporate the community and encourage them to help us brighten each day for our residents. Anyone can make cards and send to our residents, volunteer here as a helping hand, or perform for residents if you have any musical abilities.
Trick or Treating for our residents will be announced as soon as the village announces the town wide event.
Halloween Party for the residents is Oct. 31st. Don’t forget to wear your costumes!!
Chrisman Days September Wrap Up! Amy from activities and Autumn from HR did an amazing job packing up and parking at the square to promote joining our amazing team and to sell raffle tickets. Amy puts together donated gift baskets from local businesses and our department heads to raise money to ensure our residents get great enjoyable Christmas gifts year after year. PM staff joined the Chrisman and Westville Labor Day Parades this year and tossed candy, koozies, pens, and more. We handed out almost 200 coupons for Ice Cream cups redeemable at Pleasant Meadows. The kids are already coming in for their cups! October 8th is the First Annual Community Fall Festival here at PM from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be pumpkin hunting, a chili cookoff, petting zoo, face painting, and a kid’s crafting corner. Fun for the whole family!

Staff this is a lovely opportunity to volunteer to help residents get spiffy, get to the dining room, and help serve our guests. It also helps you get to know our residents’ families.
